Drone Pilot Technician

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office is seeking to hire a part-time Drone Pilot to assist with our Drone as First Responder (DFR) program . This is a grant funded position and hours may vary depending on candidate availability and agency needs. The employee will be responsible for conducting sUAV operations at one of the outdoor launch sites. This will include tasks such as, preparing the sUAV and ensuring it's airworthiness status for daily flights, swapping and charging batteries, maintaining airspace awareness, and ensuring a safe landing upon return.

High School Diploma or GED, Associate's degree and Certificate/Certifications preferred. One year experience  as a sUAV pilot with at least 20 consecutive accident free flight hours as to sufficiently ensure the potential employee's sUAV operating abilities and capacity to safely comply with FAA regulations. FAA Remote UAS Pilot (Part 107) license required.
