The Drone Pilot and UAV Lab Manager will operate our small drones as part of a rapid development and test cycle for autonomous aircraft primarily as a safety pilot.
Essential Functions:
Service and maintain a fleet of small UASs.
Assemble and disassemble aircraft and replace components.
Manage and oversee Scientific Systemβs UAV lab.
Prepare UAS for demonstrations and testing.
Responsible for storing UASs between test events.
Maintain LiPO batteries and manage spare parts and tools.
Organize test equipment to support field events.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance.
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
Part 107 certified UAS Pilot (or in process of obtaining) with prior small drone flight experience. (2+ yrs, 1000 flight hours).
Experience with common quadrotor UAS platform structures.
Experience assembling, disassembling and servicing smal UASs.
Prior experience supporting maintenance of small drone fleet (cycle batteries, maintain props and swapping parts.
Experience handling and organizing video footage from small drone events.
Preferred Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a 4-year university program.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
