Job Summary
The UAS Pilot is responsible for operating unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to support aerial data collection, surveillance, inspection, and mapping missions. This role involves planning and executing flight operations in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards. The pilot will manage pre-flight and post-flight procedures, maintain equipment, and ensure accurate data capture for various applications such as infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, and emergency response. Strong technical skills, situational awareness, and adherence to regulatory requirements are essential for success in this position.
Essential Functions
Plan and Execute Flight Missions: Develop flight plans, conduct site assessments, and ensure compliance with FAA Part 107 and other applicable regulations.
Operate UAS Safely: Perform pre-flight checks, monitor flight conditions, and maintain situational awareness during operations.
Data Collection and Analysis: Capture high-quality imagery, video, and sensor data; ensure proper data storage and transfer for analysis.
Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain UAS hardware and software to ensure operational readiness.
Documentation and Reporting: Complete flight logs, maintenance records, and mission reports accurately and timely.
Risk Management: Identify hazards, implement mitigation strategies, and adhere to safety protocols during all operations.
Collaboration: Work with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to meet mission objectives and deliver actionable insights.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with UAS technology advancements, regulatory changes, and best practices in drone operations.
Required Qualifications
4-6 years Remotely-piloted aircraft experience
Commercial UAS flight and operations experience
Strong aviation knowledge
Knowledge and maintenance experience of technical systems, including avionics, ground control systems, and radio systems
General aviation operations experience
Have a good understanding of platforms, sensors, and technology
FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone License
Preferred Additional Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in aviation, surveying, mapping, geomatics, or civil engineering
Professional Land Surveyor experience
Conventional (crewed) pilot experience
Commercial Pilot License Private or Commercial Pilot's Certificate Upon Hire

Salary Range*:
$69,900.00 - $105,000.00*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
