Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and attentive unmanned aerial systems (UAS) Driver/Spotter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving and spotting the drone during flights for the UAS Operator. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a spotter to ensure the safety of the UAS operations, maintaining visual line of sight.
- Drive a company vehicle for the UAS operator
- Ability to work storm related events and be able to stay out of town and overnight as necessary
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Clear Motor vehicle report
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within 90 days of employment.
- Will be expected to operate the drone when the pilot is unavailable, after passing the FAA Part 107 test.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills due to the need to communicate with property owners, police agencies and possibly local authorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret technical data.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of utility infrastructure and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with electric and telecommunication utility services
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry drone equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working outdoors in different terrains and various weather conditions.
