We are seeking an experienced, versatile, and initiative-taking professional to serve as Drone Department Manager. This role requires a unique balance of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and business acumen. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day drone operations - from planning and executing advanced technical missions, producing photogrammetry, LiDAR scanning, thermographic inspections, and emergency management deployments, to producing creative visual content for marketing and project documentation.

This individual will also be responsible for developing and growing our client base, marketing our services to new industries, and ensuring our drone department becomes a recognized leader in construction, environmental, and emergency management applications. Management and sales experience is a must.

Key Responsibilities 

Operational & Technical: 

- Plan, execute, and manage drone missions including photogrammetry, LiDAR, thermography, visualinspections, and emergency response.

- Ensure FAA Part 107 compliance and maintain all required certifications and waivers.

- Oversee mission planning, data processing, analysis, and final deliverables.

- Manage drone fleet, sensors, software, and equipment.

 

Creative & Content Development: 

- Capture high-quality aerial photography and videography for marketing and documentation.

- Create compelling project reports, promotional videos, and multimedia deliverables.

- Apply creative techniques to enhance storytelling.

 

Business Development & Marketing: 

- Identify and pursue business opportunities in construction, environmental services, and emergency management.

- Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote capabilities. - Build strong client relationships and represent the company at events.

 

Qualifications 

- Information Technology or Business degree.

- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

- 5+ years of drone operations experience with technical and creative portfolio.

- Experience with photogrammetry, LiDAR, and thermal imaging workflows.

- Strong video/photo editing skills and business development experience.

- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.

 

Preferred Skills 

- Experience with emergency management or construction projects.

- Familiarity with BVLOS and advanced operations.

- Environmental monitoring experience.

- Ability to train and mentor pilots.

 

Work Environment 

- Office, field, and client site work with travel as needed.

- Flexible schedule for time-sensitive missions.
